CREATING TIME

Like everything else, we create time. As a matter of fact time isn’t even real. It is a fabulous creation of ours, to manage in a linear fashion, our experiences as they occur or will occur. Now it is real because we have all agreed on its usefulness, in the same way that we have agreed on our physical existence and the chair that you are sitting on. This is a huge other discussion but suffice to say that since there is only infinite energy existing simultaneously everywhere, at all times – (OMNIPRESENT), there can be no space, which is a prerequisite of time, only presence.

Has anyone noticed that these days time is going faster? Days blur into months and years slip by? I’m just getting accustomed to writing 2008 and it’s almost 2009. Wow! Well it isn’t time that’s changing, it’s us. We’re doing more, thanks to technology, reaching further faster, thanks to aerodynamics and the airline industry. Our galaxy is getting smaller as we discover other more extensive galaxies and now we have to develop faster modes of transportation to reach these far flung outposts.

But bringing it back to us – most of us are too busy to do the things we really want to do. Why? Because we think we don’t have the time, so we actually don’t have the time. How did people manage before the automobile, airplane or e-mail? Were they missing out on something? They didn’t think so! I know they created less stress and emotional disorders. I know that a friend visiting from a different state warranted at lease two days of celebrations. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the new technology, it is what I am using to reach all of you and it’s fabulous. I do think however that we take ourselves far too seriously and miss out on a lot of wonderful experiences.

Take back your time. Create joy spots along the way… breathing spaces to enjoy life; Even if you work from home, set boundaries on your time. Give yourself permission to play hard, even as you dedicate yourself to working hard. I take that back…if it feels like work quit! Exchange your passion for a rich compensation. The balance in life is rest, play and passionate expression. A boss I once had actually stopped me from doing overtime. After a vigorous 40 to 45 hour work week, he pointed out, I would begin making poor management decisions and become less creative and he was right.

If we begin to create time to serve us instead of bending ourselves into conniptions to fit into time, we will see a big difference. Firstly, we will miss nothing. When you give yourself time to enjoy life, you work more efficiently, ultimately saving yourself a lot of time. When I am in a hurry, I misplace things, misread things; I put myself under undue stress and invariably waste a lot of time. Ever heard the saying, ‘the harder I work, the behinder I get?’ well it’s true.

Time is a balancing act. To create your time, ensure that you carve out rest periods for yourself when your mind and body are relaxed. Create time everyday to do something that gives you joy. Passionately engage in play and work; you will have more time on your hands and work more efficiently. Your life is not about work; your life is about YOU. Time is your servant, not your master.

On the other hand being late for an appointment is showing disrespect for the other person. If your appointment is at 10:00 a.m. and it will take you approximately half an hour to get to the appointment, you cannot leave at 9:55 a.m. and expect to be on time. I know many people who, while they buy into time as a fixed reality, try to create miracles when it comes to showing up on time. Show up on time for your life, create your time.

EXPERIENCE THE ROAD TO WISDOM

Every experience leads to greater wisdom and if you’re having it, you need the lesson. If we take the judgment off experience we can see that the drug addict, if he is able to recover, has the opportunity to feel his self-worth. If he dies an addict, then he is offered another life and another chance to get the lesson. The person who is ill has an opportunity to prove his essential wholeness. How many times have we heard of people who were doomed to die yet fought their way back to health? Poverty is the direct road to wealth. Have you ever noticed that in so many cases, it is the person at the so called bottom of the financial pack, who worked the smartest and achieved the most? Poverty acted as the catalyst or stimulant that sparked that extra passion. The lonely soul has a golden opportunity to see his oneness in the whole and in so doing he becomes the magnet for attracting beautiful friendships. Persons who feel insecure have only to see how supported they have been from birth to present date and begin to exercise more trust in the universe.

Each of us is doing the best that we can, based on the information that we have accepted as truth about ourselves and about the world around us. Have you ever wondered why we are here? I believe that we are here to feel our way back to Spirit; note I said FEEL not FIND because there is nothing to find; nothing was lost. But unless and until we can each of us feel the greatness, the wisdom and the infinite support that is within us, we will continue to experience the illusions of opposites. This is a tall order and requires practice; but who is setting the papers and who gives the final marks?

The physical world, with all its magnificence is still only a shadowy projection of the inner world. No shadow ever reflected its own image. It is however, the shadow that confirms the existence of its creator. In this world we create shadows based on who we think we are. As our understanding of ourselves become closer to the truth, so do our shadows. The other interesting thing is that no shadow has ever been able to change its form so it’s useless to fight with it. The work must always be done from the creator perspective, in this case the person casting the shadow of experience.

Some experiences are painful and it certainly is difficult to see your way through when you are in physical, mental, or emotional pain. But to resist it, deny it, hide it or fear it only serves to prolong the experience. I am working with the idea of accepting my experiences as a reflection that I cast and walking my way through them to the wisdom of the lesson. I have found that in every single case the lesson is simply to bring me back on track; to impress upon me at the deepest level that I am Spirit, I am one with the energy I call God; I am a living eternal soul and that this particular lifetime is but one flicker against my canvas. If YOU KNEW that you were GOD also what would your worries be? Would you be lonely or in pain or lacking the finances you need to realize your grandest dreams? I think not! You would express all the magnificence that you are. Passionately paint your life in sunny colors and live from a point of security and abundance.

Well what is to stop us now? Now that the truth of our divinity leaked through why should we hold back? I’ll tell you why…. We still have the fear – what if this is not true? Well what if it isn’t? You would have lived your life bravely, passionately, enjoyed every last sip of it and died with a smile on your face; only to find on the other side camp that you didn’t die at all and had done a damn good job.
